15-Min O3s

It’s that time again where I would like to have a 15-minute O3 with every staff member the week of April 11-15.

This gives both of us an opportunity to connect. As often as I am in classrooms seeing the great things that you all are doing, I don’t get to hear how you are feeling about everything. Please come to the O3 willing to share with me one thing that you like about Keystone and one thing that if we changed would improve Keystone.

I am asking ALL staff members to please use this link to sign up by Wednesday, April 6.

I will be sending out calendar invites by Friday, April 8. I look forward to spending this time with you!

Staff Update

I am excited to announce that we have a new recess aide, Kayla Klimek, tentatively starting on Monday, April 4. Kayla is a Keystone parent. Her daughter is in 2nd grade. Kayla is pregnant and her due date is the beginning of June. So, we don’t anticipate her finishing the school year. However, even having her for only a month or two, is better than nothing. 😊 Teachers will remain outside the first week to assist with onboarding Kayla. More information to come from Tameka.

Also, I am thrilled to announce that our building sub, Amanda Robinson has accepted one of our TIR positions. She will be receiving her degree this month, so we anticipate her transitioning to this new role the beginning of May. We have four remaining TIR positions for the 2022-23 school year. If you know someone who is interested in teaching, please have them apply online.

Please give Kayla a warm welcome and congratulate Amanda!

Drinking Fountains

Over Spring Break, the red covers on the drinking fountains will be removed and students will be able to start drinking from them. Please continue to encourage students to bring water bottles from home.

Don’t forget that Professional Accountabilities self-evaluations are due the Monday, April 11.

Interim 3

This year, like last, we will not be giving ELA Interim 3 (Mock State Test) in its entirety. Rather, you will break it up and utilize it as a teaching/reviewing tool. Use the questions for Do Nows, small group lessons, Exit Tickets, independent practice, etc. Every teacher in grades 3-8 should take Interim 3 themselves and discuss the test as grade level teams in order to develop a plan for addressing those standards needing re-teaching and additional practice. Use the assessment data located in Gradebook to assist you with developing a plan for each student.

Intent to Return

Please complete the Intent to Return form for the 2022-23 school year. I love our team so much that I hope you all decide to stay, but I understand that various circumstances may prevent that. We are asking that you complete the form by Monday, March 21. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Core Values

One of our Core Values is “Make our schools the best choice for parents and students.” Thank you for the hard work and time that you devote to this Core Value on a daily basis, especially during parent-teacher conferences. Thank you for spending time strengthening the partnership between home and school.
