Salary Letters

If you are returning next school year, you may stop by my office to pick up your 2021-22 salary letter.

Field Day Movie

If you are showing a movie on field day, it should be rated G. If you choose to show a PG rated movie, you must have a signed permission slip for every student in your class. If you are considering a movie rated higher than PG, you will need to get approval from Jorvonna. You can access the “field day” movie permission slip below. This is different from our educational movie permission slip on the U-drive.

Textbook Inventory

Now is the time to begin collecting our Shared Reading books and non-consumable textbooks.  To assist you in this process, Jamie and Robyn sent out inventory sheets for Shared Reading Texts and Read Aloud Libraries for Grades K-5 and Literature Seminar Text Lists for middle school.

Please let your families know that they must return all required books before we can release their student's report card and that they are responsible for any missing or damaged texts. Please also inventory your Read Aloud library to ensure that you have all the texts for next year.

Tuesday

On Tuesday, NHA will be recording a video in our school from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The video will be used for a marketing advertisement. They will only be using 5 rooms in our building. All impacted staff members have been notified.

View the right side of the blog for important dates for the remainder of the school year!

Please note that additional dates pertaining to EOY tasks are located on your Upcoming Dates and Event sheet.

*If you have an event to add or something has been forgotten, please let me know!

EOY Tasks

Thank you for your attentiveness during our staff meeting. The admin team wanted to give you adequate time to complete the various End of the Year (EOY) tasks. Please make sure that you are planning ahead by paying close attention to the Upcoming Dates & Events document. We encourage you to complete tasks before the due dates.

The supply list is the first item due on Friday, May 21!

Postcards

As you start your end of the year tasks, I wanted to let you know that all postcards are on the copier room counter. Please note the following:

·      Each teacher needs to complete 30 postcards.

·      When writing your message, you can handwrite them or print them on a label.

·      Stephanie is printing address labels for everyone to put on the postcards. The labels are for the entire grade level and will be in the team lead’s box today!

·      It’s important that you put the address label on first before you write your message to ensure you have enough room.

·      Please make sure you put the address label on the right side of the postcard and your message on the left (see image below).

·      You are not writing this to a specific student, instead it will be written to the grade level (see below).

·      These will be sent out in July, so it will be your second summer communication to your incoming families. Your grade level welcoming letter will be your first communication that will be sent home with report cards.

Lexia and Sora

Please do not forget to have all student complete the Lexia placement test by this Wednesday, May 19. Lexia should be a part of your ELA workshop at least twice a week, beginning Monday, May 24.

Also, please make sure students know how to “borrow” books using Sora in preparation for summer school and learning. You can access all the hyperlinks for the training videos on the document below. All students should be familiar with Sora by June 4. Please see Jenaca if you need assistance.

Digital Tools

NHA is streamlining digital tools for the 21-22 school year. This initiative is called NHA Technology Model, and it has four categories for each digital tool: Provided, Supported, Not Supported, and Prohibited. Definitions for each category can be found in the table below.

Effective July 2021, the following digital tools will either be Not Supported or Prohibited.  Majority of the “Not Supported or Prohibited” tools that we use are being replaced by Lexia, Dreambox, and Sora which puts us at an advantage since we have been trained/introduced to all three.

Laptop Agreement

All extra technology that staff used this school year: monitors, Chromebooks, etc. must be turned into Sarah D before you leave for the summer. The only technology that salary staff can check out for the summer is your laptop. If you would like to keep your laptop over the summer, please complete the form below.
