ABCD Goals

We set a goal of entering one positive behavior per student every trimester. With only 3 weeks left in the trimester, I hope that you have majority entered. The purpose of this initiative is to decrease our attrition rate. As we focus on commitment, not compliance, please make sure the positive behaviors are genuine. If you try to enter all the behaviors in the last week of the trimester, it takes away from the authenticity. Your comments should be specific for each individual student. You should NOT be copying the same comment for students. If you haven’t started, I strongly encourage you to start on Monday.

A huge shout out to my top 10 staff members who have the most positive behaviors entered into MyNHA.

Core Values

One of our Core Values is to “take ownership for the success of our students.” To do this, it’s important that workshop lesson plans align to instruction. As you know, it’s our expectation that every teacher should be pulling small groups daily based on data.

For the month of November, the leadership team will be observing workshop for our calibration observations. We will focus on the indicators of Differentiated Planning and Personalized Instruction.

Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions regarding the expectations.

School Visit

We look forward to welcoming 6 DSQs, 2 Senior DSQs, and 2 C & I Managers on Tuesday.

We have notified those teachers who will be observed, however, if you see them around our school, please give them a warm Keystone welcome.

PLC Survey

Don’t forget to complete this survey to provide us with your feedback regarding our PLC.

Core Values-BWC

Last week, I encouraged each of you to find that one student who causes extra challenges to your classroom environment and to make it a point to interact with him/her daily focusing on building a positive relationship.

We have several schoolwide initiatives and expectations that if used with fidelity can assist you with building relationships with your students: affirmations, good news, greeting, moral focus, and right reward. If you go beyond compliance, and commit to implementing these schoolwide initiatives and expectations, then you wouldn’t have to do anything new.

Click on this document to understand the importance of these skills, reflect on your current practices, and use the resources to enhance your approach and implementation of these skills.

It's my hope that we all can move from compliance to commitment and see a positive change in our most difficult student behaviors.
