Reunification Training

On Wednesday, December 13, we have a ½ day for our annual reunification training. All staff (hourly, salary, SFE, and Aramark) need to attend to learn/review our reunification plan and visit the reunification location. More information to come.

ABCDE Goal-Behaviors

We set a goal of entering one positive behavior per student every trimester from your homeroom. As we begin Trimester 2, don’t forget to have a plan in place to ensure that all students receive one. As you know, the purpose of this initiative is to decrease our attrition rate. This can only be done if the positive behaviors are genuine.

A huge shout out to our top 10 staff members below for sending more than what was required in Trimester 1.

Lunch

Our wonderful Board will be providing the staff with lunch on Friday, January 12 as a part of our holiday gift. They always provide us with lunch in January to give us something to look forward to in the new year. This year they are seeking your input. Please fill out this survey if you have a recommendation for any restaurant in the Ann Arbor, Canton, Belleville, or Ypsilanti area.

Unplug

Just like the past two years, we are asking all staff members to “unplug” from work over Thanksgiving break. We want you to use this as an opportunity to relax, unwind, and enjoy a well-deserved break with family and friends. Please set an out of office message (included below) at 4:00 pm on Tuesday and refrain from checking emails until Sunday night, November 26.

Out of Office Message:

Thank you for your email. I am out of the building from Tuesday, November 21 at 4:00 pm until Monday, November 27. During this time, all Keystone staff members have been encouraged to unplug and prioritize their mental health and family by temporarily disconnecting from work. I will be more than happy to respond to your email and needs when I return to work on Monday, November 27. Thank you for your understanding and partnership.

Set an Out of Office Message:

Open Outlook àSettingsà View all Outlook settings à Mail à Automatic replies. I copied the message in both boxes for “within the company” and “outside of the company.”

Retentions

If you are considering retention for any of your students, you must have a conversation with the family by December 6. Please make sure that you send me your list of retention students by Friday, December 8 so that I can enter those students’ names into MyNHA as possible retention candidates.

Classroom Holiday Parties

If you are having a holiday party with your homeroom, it must be on December 22 for the last hour of the day.

Please remind families of our policy regarding food items. In our handbook it states, “…only items that are bought directly from the store and with an ingredient list may be brought into school. No homemade treats may be brought in for sharing due to potential allergen exposure.”

Affirmations

Keystone staff for your participation with Monopoly. Your participation and enthusiasm contributed to a memorable experience that our students will never forget.

John for being our only non-parent staff member to attend our Y5s-5th skating party. It was so great seeing you skate with all the students. You were a celebrity.

Emma for all the beautiful artwork around our school.

Christina for always offering me lunch. You are so thoughtful.

Tameka for my “just because” gift. I love my lotion and spa items.

Stacey Ramiez for all things Monopoly. There are not enough words for me to express my deepest gratitude for assisting me with Monopoly. It's without a doubt that I could NOT have pulled this off without you. Your efforts and contributions brought so much joy to students and staff. I appreciate how you never hesitate to join me in my craziness. From the bottom of my heart...THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

Robyn, Tameka, and Stacey Reed for all your assistance with our ESSER 3 LEA plan. I am so fortunate that you are my deans. You make me and Keystone better.

Steve for EVERYTHING that you did to make our Veterans Day assembly so remarkable. At certain points, you “almost” had me in tears with the outstanding way that you recognized the veterans. Every year, I walk away in awe of your skill set to capture moments and tell a story through video. You made our Keystone veterans feel special and for that you should feel extremely proud.
