Staff Meeting

Starting at 3:45, please go to the staff lounge to sign in, pick up documents, and grab some snacks. Our staff meeting will begin promptly at 4:00 pm in the technology room in the middle school hallway.

Please click HERE for the agenda below.

Lexia & Dreambox

As a reminder, students are NOT required to do Lexia nor Dreambox every day during workshop. The maximum number of days that we require per digital tool is 2-3 times a week (K-5) and 90 minutes a week (middle school). Click HERE for your specific grade level requirements.

Students may do other things during their independent workshop time. We strongly encourage providing students an opportunity to read a “Just Right” book during ELA workshop. Please reach out to your dean if you need suggestions on other independent activities.

Core Values-Substitute Binder

One of our Core Values is to “take ownership for the success of our students.” To do this, it’s important that quality instruction occurs even when there is a substitute teacher. Please make sure to complete this substitute binder checklist by September 20 and turn it into your dean.

Core Values-BWC

The leadership team will continue doing calibrated observations focused on Classroom Culture this week. While observing, we would love to see you implementing affirmations and greeting.

Although, these are not our school goals anymore, you know that affirmations and greetings are still important in building positive relationships. Affirmations support a classroom culture in which each student is a contributing member of the community of learners that care about each other. Teachers should offer both public and private affirmations daily and should provide multiple opportunities for students to affirm each other. Where the purpose of greeting students at the door is to welcome each student individually and to set a positive tone for the beginning of each school day. It also gives you advanced warning if a student is having a bad morning and is in need of extra support.

To establish a culture of affirmations, ask yourself:

     ·      Have I identified appropriate ways and times during the day to affirm students?

     ·      Do I provide intentional opportunities for students to affirm each other?

To establish a culture with greeting, ask yourself:

     ·      Do I greet each student by name and in a positive manner?

     ·      Do I have a structure in my class for greeting visitors?

Please review the “look fors” in this link to provide you with some insight on what we are looking for when we observe you in action.

Family Connections

Family connections for returning students is due Friday, September 13.  Don’t forget to provide your dean with a completed copy of this sheet. You will bring the sheet to your O3 the week of September 16.
