Core Values-Problem of Practice

Behave With Care is one of our Core Values. A descriptor states, “We SUPPORT our students, our families and each other in tangible and meaningful ways.”

To continuously support each other, we will be doing a variation of Problem of Practice during our staff meetings. We will utilize the resources, experiences, and knowledge of your colleagues to support one another. If you have a professional issue (student behavior, parent concern, instructional practice, etc.) that you are struggling with resolving, bring it to our staff meetings to receive suggestions from your colleagues. Please let Jorvonna know prior to the meeting so you can be added to the agenda.

No more than two Problems of Practice per meeting. The protocol should take 5-6 minutes per problem. 

·      1 minute to state the problem

·      1 minute for clarifying questions

·      3 minutes for tables to discuss and write down possible solutions (each table must provide at least one suggestion)

·      Collect and give suggestions to peer

·      Report back at next meeting the status of the situation
