Meet With Other Grade Levels PLC

Based on the survey results below, it was almost split down the middle regarding “Meet With Other Grade Level PLCs.” At this time, we will have to cancel them this school year due to lack of facilitators. However, we can revisit this next year.

Core Values-Behave With Care

One of our Core Values is to “behave with care.” We want to encourage our staff to use our High Five system. To create a school culture built on respect and positivity, any staff member that sends 5 High Fives each month will receive a jeans pass. Please make sure to notify your dean to receive your jeans pass.

15-Min O3s

Every year, I like to have 15-minute O3s with every staff member. These O3s occur at the beginning and middle of the school year.

These O3s give both of us an opportunity to connect. As often as I am in classrooms seeing the great things that you all are doing, I don’t get to hear how you are feeling about everything. Please come to the O3 willing to share with me one thing that you like about Keystone and one thing that if we changed would improve Keystone.

I am asking ALL staff members to please use this link to sign up by Tuesday, September 19.

The 15-minute O3s will occur over the week of September 25-29. I will be sending out calendar invites on Wednesday. I look forward to spending this time with you!

Time Capsule

As I mentioned in the staff meeting, we will be burying a time capsule during our 20 Year Anniversary Celebration. I really need your help to determine what items should go into the capsule. PLEASE take this quick 2-question survey. Thank you!

Behavior Support

Since we didn’t get a chance to discuss the ABSS process during our staff meeting, please click here to understand the steps in receiving academic and/or behavior support from Jen Horner.

C&I School Visit

Our math and ELA specialists from NHA’s Curriculum & Instruction (C &I) team, along with our DSQ, Senior DSQ and School Leadership Development partner are coming to visit our school on Thursday, September 14 from 8:30-2:45.

The purpose of their visit is to determine how they can support teachers and deans with the following instructional practices:

·        Instructional fidelity (using the tool, incorporating the lesson components, and following the lesson plan)

·        Student instructional engagement (students participating in discussion, taking an active role in learning, etc.)

·        Students being able to articulate and explain the learning objective (I Can).

·        NHA’s classroom culture goal (GREETING)

We have notified those teachers who will be observed, however, if you see them around our school, please give them a warm Keystone welcome.
