Annotating Lessons and Common Assessment Data

One of our schoolwide goals is for “50% of teachers to increase at least one performance measure in the Prepare for Each Lesson competency under Planning from their FLO fall to spring.”

To reach this goal, deans and teachers have been intentional and thoughtful in co-planning and annotating lesson plans to strengthen daily instruction.

We know that annotating takes extra time and effort, but the results show it’s worth it. Our common assessment scores are stronger than last year’s during the first 7 weeks of instruction. Math outperformed in all weeks except Week 7, while ELA outperformed in four of the seven weeks. It worth noting that ELA is gaining steady momentum this year, whereas last year’s data showed a downward trend after Week 3.

Your hard work, consistency, and commitment to intentional planning are making a real impact on student learning!

Staff Meeting

Starting at 3:45 on Tuesday, please go to the staff lounge to sign in, pick up documents, and grab some snacks. Our staff meeting will begin promptly at 4:00 pm in the technology room.

You may click HERE for the agenda.

Friday's Regional PD

This year, NHA has determined that all Regional PD sessions will be held at each individual school. We look forward to spending the day with you discussing the assessing competency and active participation (including SEL engagement strategies).

You can click HERE to view the full agenda. Everyone needs to bring an ELA lesson planned for the week of November 17–21 (or a lesson from another content area if you do not teach ELA).

Lunch will be provided from Stacks featuring broasted chicken, potato wedges, salad, and breadsticks.

Please note that only salaried staff are required to attend.

Affirmations

Tracy for the creative way you’ve used the Moral Focus stuffed animals to recognize our middle school students who exemplify our virtues. Your idea not only highlights positive behavior but also makes the recognition fun and meaningful for the students. What a thoughtful and engaging way to celebrate their achievements!

Judy for a fun and creative recess activity for our 3rd graders! Having them hunt for ducks around the playground was such a clever way to get students moving, engaged, and excited.

Stacey Ramirez for all you did to support our schoolwide game! From creating all the graphics, setting up teacher challenges each night, running the challenges in my absence, and so much more — you were my anchor in the storm. There aren't enough words to say that I could NOT do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Steve for not only making my morning “sweeter” with an unexpected treat but providing me with technical support.

Kim J, Gloria, Danielle D, Sally, Robyn M, Judy, Mackenzie, and Rachel for stepping in when we didn’t have a custodian and taking the time to collect all the trash. Your willingness to help out shows such thoughtfulness and care.

Lynne, Diane, and Mark for your patience and positive attitude when assemblies ran long, and you missed your prep time—twice! Your grace and positivity didn’t go unnoticed, and I’m so grateful for your understanding.

Robyn M for being proactive and ensuring that communication was sent out Thursday’s assembly and breakfast.

Sally for making sure I had everything ready for both trivia days. You have no idea how much your support contributed to the success!

Kim J for sending BST meeting notes to all parties involved. This ensures we stay consistent with expectations and follow up as needed.
