Early Release

More information will be forth coming about Early Release PD on Friday. Please know that all staff, including paras, are expected to attend.

Achievement Boards

Thank you for being diligent with getting your achievement boards done by Monday. As a reminder, if the student work has a score on it, take off the student's name before displaying it. If the student’s work does not have a score on it, it is acceptable to post the student's name.

Make sure to include the following when posting your achievement board:
   ·    Title
   ·    Objective written as an I Can Statement
   ·    Standard (Common Core, NGSS, etc.)
   ·    Student work
   ·    Specific feedback for each student
o  Please write more than “Good job!”

I love Sheila’s board and how rigorous it is. She has her kindergarten students responding to a prompt in complete sentences. In addition, she provided them with amazing feedback!

Glint Survey Action Plan

Thank you for your conversations last Tuesday around our Glint survey. As an admin team, we are committed to helping you achieve a better “work-life balance.” In an effort to reduce meetings,
         ·     Only homeroom teachers need to attend IEP, A-CAP, and IAT meetings.
         ·     We will NOT schedule more than 2 meetings per week during your prep. If we overlook this, please let us know so we can adjust.
         ·     We will try to communicate through email when possible, instead of holding a meeting. Did you notice that we did this with the Independent article yesterday? :)
         ·     To help with meeting timeliness, we will try to have more group discussions and have only one person per group share. This will help to avoid us talking about one topic too long but ensuring that everyone is heard.

Lastly, we will be looking at our school schedule to see if we can do anything to help with teachers’ lunches. If we are able to make this happen, it wouldn’t go into effect until the 20-21 school year.

Welcome to the Team

We would like to welcome Silviya Adams as our new lunch aide. She will begin on Tuesday.

Admin Observations

The month of February, the admin team will be doing collaborative observations focusing on teacher goals.

Do not hesitate to reach out to your dean or me if you have any questions.
