You should have received your Trimester 3 class list by now. Please make sure that you contact your new families via email by Tuesday, March 2. Please include your intro/welcome letter and class schedule
(virtual).
We have removed the social distancing circles because they were a hot mess. 😊 We will be putting new ones down during Spring Break. At that time, there will be one row in the center of the hallway to hopefully increase longevity. When installed, we ask that students continue to line up on the blue carpet, not the circles, and only use the circles as a guide.
NHA
informed me that they will begin installing classroom cameras the week of March
8. It will take 3 days to complete the project and majority of the work will be
done after school hours. I will let you know if anything changes.
Please make sure that you record your synchronous lessons
on Monday for those students who are unable to attend. We want to make sure all
students have access to learning regardless of their home situation.
Jen H, Ashley H, Stephanie, Deb, Robyn, Jamie, Stacey, and Tameka for being the best direct reports that anyone could ask for. You have completely spoiled me this week. I don’t know what I am going to do when I come next week and don’t have a surprise every day!

It’s that time again where I would like to have
a 15-minute O3 with every staff member the week of March 1-5.
This gives both of us an opportunity to connect.
As often as I am in classrooms seeing the great things that you all are doing,
I don’t get to hear how you are feeling about everything. Please come to the O3
willing to share with me one
thing that you like about Keystone and one thing
that if we changed would improve Keystone.
I am
asking ALL staff members to please use the link: Sign Up Sheet to sign up by Wednesday, February 24.
I will be
sending out calendar invites by Friday, February 26. I look forward to spending
this time with you!
Tracy, Jamie, Stacey, Tameka, and Tricia for unexpected surprises that you have each given me over the past two weeks. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. It means more than you know.
Sloane for sharing a best practice with your colleagues. It was great to see you providing that next level of instruction to your student.
Sarah Z for creating and organizing a thoughtful idea for a teammate/friend!
Sarah Z for going above and beyond to ensure everyone gets the proper onboarding.
Stacey for EVERYTHING that you have done with several transitions the past few weeks. You have become a communication “beast” with all the letters and emails that you have sent recently. These transitions were seamless because of you!
Stefanie and Stacey for all your hard work with kinder testing. I was amazed how efficient you both were with getting everything reorganized when you had to reschedule BOTH days of testing.
Mandy for stepping in and providing your
knowledge and expertise. You are appreciated.
Mandy and Ashley for assessing our new incoming students. Thank you for your time to ensure proper placement.
Robyn for giving up your office for others.

Let the fun continue! This week,
the admin team will be hiding two golden tickets throughout the building every
day. If you locate a golden ticket, you may turn it in for a prize (jean pass,
lunch, gift card, or extra prep). Please do not have the students helping
during this activity. Also, only one golden ticket can be redeemed a day per
staff member. However, everyday it starts all over, so you can win multiple
times through the week.
One of our Core Values is “Do the right thing always.” A descriptor for that Core Value says, “We embrace accountability by holding ourselves and others to high standards, taking responsibility for our actions, following through on our commitments and admitting when we are wrong.”
One way that we “do the right thing always” is
through our weekly/bi-weekly classroom
observations. Through classroom observations the admin team gets the opportunity to see high quality instruction and share the best
practices with the entire staff (staff meetings). In addition, we are able to
give meaningful and direct feedback about teacher instructional delivery and
content. These practices help to strengthen our school culture of growth and collaboration.

Last week, your dean gifted you extra time. This week let the competition
begin! I know how competitive the Keystone staff is, so it’s trivia time. You
will be answering trivia questions for prizes (extra prep, jean pass, lunch, or
gift cards) all week. Once a day, I will go over the “all call” system to ask a
trivia question, announce the lucky caller number, and an extension # or cellphone
to call. Think of this like a radio contest in the 80s and 90s. For example, I
would ask,
“When did the website "Facebook"
launch? The fourth caller to call extension 104, will win a prize.”
I
will answer the phone and announce what number caller you are until I get to
the fourth caller. If the fourth caller doesn’t have the correct answer, I will
move on to the fifth caller and continue until I get the right answer. Only one
winner per day. So, if there are multiple people in a room (Academic
Specialist, para, classroom teacher, etc.) only the person who makes the phone
call will win. If you have students in your classroom, have them join in to
help you! Every day the question, caller number, and extension will change so
you need to listen carefully.
