Valentine's Day Parties

You are welcome to plan a small Valentine’s Day celebration in your classroom on February 14. We request that this celebration take place the last 30 minutes of the day. If you would like to do Valentine’s Day themed academic activities throughout the day, you are welcome to do that as well.

Per our student handbook, “Students in grades K-5 may celebrate by bringing valentines for their classmates. Students who bring valentines must give one to each of their classmates.”

To maximize time, have your students only write who it’s from, instead of writing each student’s name on the valentines. If you do provide a class list to families, please make sure not to include last names.

Moral Focus Awards

As we live out our Core Values, it’s important that we Behave With Care. One way to do to that is by recognizing as many students as possible during Friday assemblies.

To ensure that the specials teachers do not choose a student that has already been recognized by their homeroom teacher, please make sure that you are filling out this form consistently each month.

Thank you to Mandy, Linsey, Crystal, Falak, Teri, Kathleen, Josie, Amy, Danielle, Amanda, Tracy, Emma, Eric, Ja’Rayl, and John for completing the form every month.

Extra, Extra Prep

We have continued our promise of trying to provide you additional time. So, we would love to offer you an extra hour of prep this trimester! Extra, Extra Prep will be available the week of February 10-14. We hope this will either help you finalize grades and/or complete other tasks.

Please note:

       ·        This is for salary staff, however, if an hourly staff needs additional time, please see your dean.

       ·        We will do our very best to make sure that you get your prep(s), however, if too many people call off on a particular day, we may need to reschedule your extra prep.

       ·        It’s our desire to do this at least once a trimester as long as subs are available.

If you are a classroom teacher and would like to have an extra hour of prep, please follow the steps below.

     1.    Click on this sign-up sheet by 3:45 on Wednesday, January 29.

     2.    Pick one time slot.

     3.    Prepare lesson plans for a sub.

Finalized schedule will be emailed Friday, January 31.

1/2 Day PD

Two years later and the leadership team is still upholding our promise to you. We are providing you with an hour and half additional planning time during our ½ day PD on Wednesday.

You will spend the first hour and a half going through Phase 2 of the assessment cycle focusing on analyzing student work (see schedule here). The second hour and a half you can prep/plan at your discretion. However, all staff must remain in the building until 3:15 PM.  We hope the additional 6 hours of prep that our half days provide reaffirm that “you matter!”
